Jacques Brel – Ne me quitte pas
Some say Belgium has nothing to be proud of. I disagree. This song is the same age as me, and this has to be the best performance ever. Can you better it?

I agree. Great version, sung from the heart by the man who wrote it.. I remember a time when practically every artist covered this, with varying degrees of success. I liked Dusty’s version and Scott Walker’s but my favourite English version was – and still is – Rod McKuen’s. He, of course, wrote the English lyrics, as he did for ‘Seasons In The Sun’ (subsequently ruined, in my opinion, by Terry Jacks). Brel influenced so many singers and songwriters from that day to this.
