A little about me…

Steve Emmett…

is a member of Humanists UK, worked for a while as their Ceremonies Training Coordinator, and is a Humanists UK Celebrant providing funeral and memorial ceremonies across Yorkshire and The Humber – but will travel, including overseas, if requested.

Steve studied at the Architectural Association in London where he once witnessed Dame Zaha Hadid fall through a canvas chair (admittedly she was just plain Ms Hadid then). He spent much of his professional life selling and restoring Italian houses, living mostly in London and Italy.

Steve grew up on Hammer Horror films, Dennis Wheatley and MR James stories, so not surprising that his main aim when writing fiction is to put the frighteners up his readers – when not scaring people he likes to make them smile. .

He likes books, films, theatre, concerts, music, and travel. He has, in the past, reviewed for the New York Journal of Books but these days he is a full-time celebrant and very content being so.
